Vanuatu Intellectual Property Office (VanIPO) was established in January 2012 by a Ministerial Order and is a new unit under the Ministry of Trade & Commerce. VanIPO currently has 15 staff under these sections below.
Corporate – the Registrar, an Admin/Receptionist, Finance Officer, IT Officer, Driver
Trademark - 2 Senior Trademark Officer, 2 Trademark Officers,
Patents and Designs - 1 Officer
Copyright & Related Rights - 1 Senior Copyright & Related Right & 1 Registration Officer
Geographical Indication(GI) - 1 Officer
Vanuatu Copyright Management Society - 1 Officer
Compliance & Enforcement - 1 Officer
The VanIPO exist as a registry that keeps a record of Trademarks, Designs, Patents, Copyright and those who are engaged in providing goods and services in Vanuatu. It is slowly expanding it services for better management of the organization.
