ABOUT US

The Vanuatu Intellectual Property Office (VanIPO) was established in January 2012 through a Ministerial Order and initially operated as a unit under the Ministry of Trade and Commerce until the enactment of the Vanuatu Intellectual Property Office Act No. 33 of 2025. VanIPO currently has a staff of 15, organized across its key operational sections.

VanIPO serves as the national registry responsible for administering and maintaining records of trademarks, industrial designs, patents, and copyright, as well as overseeing compliance. It also maintains records of individuals and entities engaged in the provision of goods and services within Vanuatu. The Office continues to expand its services to strengthen its systems and enhance the efficiency and delivery of intellectual property administration.
